On July 12, 2021, the College of New Energy and Environment (CNEE) of Jilin University held the “2021 Water Resources & Environment Online Forum for International Young Scholars”. 5 young scholars from Carnegie Mellon University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, the University of Hong Kong and other well-known universities at home and abroad, as well as 3 young scholars from CNEE, presented a rich academic feast through academic reports, which attracted more than 100 teachers and students to communicate online and offline.

The forum was chaired by Prof. Dong Jun, Vice Dean of CNEE, and Prof. Xu Tianfu, Dean of CNEE delivered the opening speech. Prof. Xu Tianfu gave a brief introduction to the discipline, teaching staff, scientific and technological innovation, talents cultivation, international cooperation and exchanges of the College. Followed by academic reports given by 5 young scholars and 3 young teachers from CNEE on atmospheric mercury chemistry, water treatment and utilization, hydrology and water resources, energy, environment and economy. After the reports, attendees had a detailed exchange on the relevant contents of the reports. Finally, Prof. Dong Jun made the closing remarks of the forum. He sincerely thanked the attendees for their active participation and supports, and invited young scholars to work and exchange in Jilin University.

This forum has built a high-level academic exchange and cooperation platform for outstanding young scholars at home and abroad. Furthermore, it is also conducive to further expanding the international reputation of CNEE, opening a new channel for the recruitment of high-level talents in the future.
