In 2020, the abrupt outbreak of COVID-19 has posed unprecedented challenges to the whole world which caused many plans to be disrupted. In this situation, in order to ensure international exchanges of our students, the College invited Prof. Jung Kwnasue of Chungnam National University to give online lectures on Hydraulics and Its Application. It is mainly covers the fundamental concepts and theories of hydraulics to provide students with the ability to solve engineering problems in hydraulics using necessary analysis and calculation methods and experimental techniques.
On November 3, 2020, the course began with Prof. Jung Kwnasue’s wonderful introduction and lasts for one month. Participants from China, Ethiopia, and Pakistan discussed the content effectively with Prof. Jung Kwnasue. He introduces students to ideas about hydraulics combining with the actual hydrological and water conservancy construction conditions of China and South Korea which opens up students’ new perspectives on hydraulics. At the end of the course, Prof. Jung Kwnasue welcomed all teachers and students to Korea for offline academic exchanges and discussions after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hydraulics and Its Application taught by Prof. Jung Kwnasue was successfully completed. The students who attended the course expressed that they had learned a lot and looked forward to such courses. It is of great significance to set up this course for the development of regional academic exchanges, the stimulation of students’ scientific research thinking, and broadening students’ international horizons.
